The engagement to marry was announced January 23, 1943 [3]
He married Iris Ivy Anderson at the Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church, Wellington on March 20, 1943. [4]
CUTHBERT—ANDERSON.—On March 20, 1943, at Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church, Iris Ivy, younger daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. M. P. Anderson, Karori, to Private Gilbert Huia, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Cuthbert, Wellington.
In 1946, 1949, 1957, 1963, 1969, 1972, 1978, 1981 they were living at 22 Parkvale Road, and his occupation is storeman.
In 1969, son Nigel Maitland is at the same address, occupation spray painter. He later moved to Harland Grove, Wainouiomata, Wellington, married to Marjory Judith B. [5]
He died May 17, 1994 aged 80 [6] and was cremated in Wellington [7]
The cremation date is not credible.
