* 18. Thomas D'Oyly, who had his feat at Marlow, but, with his fon, John, purchafed their prefent feat at Chiflehampton. He married two wives ; firft, Alice, daughter and heir of ___ Curfon ; fecondly, Alice, daughter of ___ Hall, of Oxenbridge in Wiltshire, relict of Sir William Cotefmore ; by the laft, he had no iflfue, but by the firft, he left iffue feveral fons and daughters.
** 19. John D'Oyly, his eldeft fon, married Frances, fifter and coheir to Sir Chriftopher Edmonds, Knt. (maid of honour to Queen Elizabeth) by whom he had a numerous iffue ; as, Sir Robert D'Oyly, a great courtier in the reign of Queen Elizabeth, who married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Nicholas Bacon, lord-keeper of the great feal, &c. He was killed at the black affizes at Oxford, by the ftench of the prifoners, together with many relations, and gentlemenof diftinction, anno 1577, S.P.

***in Oxfordshire, Bart. cofferer to King James I. by whom he had several children, viz. Sir Cope; Margery, married to George Barfton ; Elizabeth, married, firft, to Francis Harvey, Efq; fecondly, to Sir Robert Browne, Bart, thirdly, to Sir Guy Palms, Knt. Dorcas, wife of Francis Quarles, of Rumford in Effex, Efq; Mary, wife of Henry Howton, of Cothorp, Efq; and 'Prifcilla, wife of Edward Goddard, Efq.'
**** 21. His fon, was that noble and renowned knight, Sir Cope D'Oyly, a gentleman that was, in his time, the honour of this ancient and honourable houfe. He married Martha, daughter of James Quarles, of Rumford, Efq; by whom hehad five fons and five daughters, of which, Dorothia was married to Hubertus Arnold, of Armfwel ; and Johanna, to John Michel, of Kingfton-Ruffel, both in the county of Dorfet, Efqrs. This Sir Cope D'Oyly, died Aug. 4, 1633, and was buried at ___ in Oxfordfhire.
