  • Multiple variations of Surname name are found in historical records. The first time his last name appears in records is when he leaves home in 1879. At that time, he used the patronymic Jönsson, the same as his siblings. In 1880, he added the last name Löfdahl when he joined the army. It was customary for Swedish soldiers to be given a soldier's name when they enlisted.
