Hi Isara-
In 1976, Max and Pauline Dale’s Restaurant burnt to the ground in an electric fire. My Uncle, Tony Pickering was the Safeco claims agent on the fire and Max asked him to manage the restaurant when it reopened in 1978. Tony bought it from Max and Pauline a few years later, and his son Danny and I bought it from Tony about 10 years ago. I met Max a few times while I was visiting my Uncle as a kid, and had the privilege of fishing with him a few times. I have fond memories of Max and feel quite grateful he started our restaurant and ran it for the first 31 years of its existence. To answer your question, our family is not related to your family through Max Dale, but he has provided us with a great legacy to follow.

To Me Feb 16 They had 3 children; Vicky, Diane and Brian. Diane and Brian both passed away about 5 years ago. Brian was severely handicapped and spent most of his life in a care facility. Diane was married to Pat Armstrong, had 2 children and passed away due to complications from Krohns Disease in Maui. I’m not sure what has become of Vicky, last I knew she was living in Oregon. Diane and her husband Pat were both involved with the restaurant, especially in Pauline’s later years as a great landlord. They eventually sold the building and real estate to my Uncle, Tony. I don’t think the restaurant business was their passion, and Max and Pauline appreciated that.
