James was born about 1859 in St Just, Cornwall, UK.[1].

In 1879 he migrated with his father John Dale, mother Eliza and brother George on the Northern Monarch, an Assisted Immigration ship sailed from Plymouth, 31 Oct 1878, to Timaru, New Zealand.[2]

Research Notes

No cemetery record found. There are too many James Dale hits in NZ BDM to be certain about anything.

The ages on the passenger log are iffy (in fact I'm not 100% sure this is the same family) McNabb-952 23:37, 27 July 2020 (UTC)
