It is speculated Hester may be a sister, or of some other close relation, to James Dalrymple.
Hester, the wife of Peter Vandolah Sr. (married about 1758) was the mother of six sons: Henry, Joseph, John, Peter Jr., James and Jesse. She and many of her sons and daughters-in-law were founding members of the Enon Baptist Church in Washington County, PA., in 1791.
Hester and Peter Vandolah lived across the Monongahela River from the Enon Baptist Church, in Washington township, Fayette county, PA, between present-day Fayette City and Belle Vernon. Hester died between 30 Aug 1804, when she is named in her husband's Will ("I give and devise unto my beloved wife Hester the dwelling house and garden of at least half an acre of ground where I now dwell, together with all my household and kitchen furniture, that I may own at my decease, and also one third of the rents, profits, perquisites and interest arising from my real and personal estate, during her natural life"), and 11 Mar 1808 when her husband Peter Vandolah alone sold property.
