Biography

Asa was a farmer in Hunterdon County for most of his life. After his mother's death in 1858, his father lived with him until he passed in 1882.

He enlisted on 4-27-1861, age 29, and was a private in Co. H., 3rd Reg. N.J. Volunteers during the Civil War.

He is buried at Lower Amwell Cemetery - Old Yard, Sergeantsville, Hunterdon County New Jersey, USA, along with his wife, and several of his children.
