Biography

William D. Dalrimple died on 25 June 1882. William married twice. He is buried beside his wives, Emeline, and Susan Elmira, at Evergreen Cemetery, Morristown, Morris, New Jersey.[1] NOTE: William’s wives were found by searching this cemetery on FaG . They are buried in adjoining lots, although the FaG profiles are not linked. Other sourced documents below verify that these were his wives.

William died on June 15, 1882 in Randolph, Morris, New Jersey. He was a railroad conductor at the time. This record does show that he was born about 1822. He was 59 at the time of his death.[2]

In 1850, the Dalrymple family lived in Morris, Morris County, New Jersey. All members of the household were born in New Jersey. The household included William Dalrymple, a stage driver; Emeline, 25; Dennis, 7; John, 4; and William H., 2.[3]

In 1860, the Dalrymple family lived in Morris Township, Morris County, New Jersey. All members of the household were born in New Jersey. The household included William Dalrymple, 35, railroad employee, with $200 in real estate; (his five children) Dennis, 17, a hatters apprentice; John, 15, in school; (William) Henry, 12, in school; Oscar M., 9, in school; and Edward, 5. Also living with them were Anna Dalrymple, 53, with $2000 in real estate and $1000 in personal estate; and Jane Dalrymple, 66, a widow.[4]

William D. Dalrymple and Susan R. Bunn were married 21 January 1863 at “R. Bunn’s” home in Morris County, New Jersey. William was a resident of Morristown, and Susan was a resident of Bernardsville, NJ. Rev. Lewis R.Dunn, M. E. Church minister, officiated.[5] [6]

In 1880, the Dalrymple family lived in Morris, Morris county, New Jersey. All members of the household were born in NJ, as were their parents. The household included William D. Dalrymple, 55, a coach man; his wife S. Elmira, 42; and children (one from each of William’s marriage): Anna E., 24; and David, L., 13. [7]
