John Till Dalrymple was born 26 July 1845 in New Jersey, the son of William Dennis Dalrymple and Emeline Elizabeth Till. John married Lucinda Petty on 31 December 1870 in Warren, NJ. They had four children. John died on 1 May 1926 in Morris, NJ. He is buried wit his wife Lucinda at Orchard Street Cemetery, Dover, Morris, NJ. [1] [2]

The household included William Dalrymple, 35, railroad employee, with $200 in real estate; (his five children) Dennis, 17, a hatters apprentice; John, 15, in school; (William) Henry, 12, in school; Oscar M., 9, in school; and Edward, 5. Also living with them were Anna Dalrymple, 53, with $2000 in real estate and $1000 in personal estate; and Jane Dalrymple, 66, a widow.[4]
John Dalrymple, 21, and Lucinda Petty were married on 31 December 1870 in Warren, New Jersey. John was the son of William and Emeline Dalrymple. Lucinda was the daughter of Josiah and Elizabeth Petty.[5]
In 1880, the Dalrymple family lived in an apartment at 366 Bergen Street, Randolph, Morris, New Jersey. All members of the household were born in New Jersey, as were their parents. The household included John T. Dalrymple, 33, a railroad engineer; his wife, Lucinda, 22; daughters Emeline, 6; and Laura A., an infant. Also living with them was William Sprague, 36, a boarder, and railroad worker.[6]
In 1900, the Dalrymple family lived in their rented house in Dover, Morris, New Jersey. All were born in New Jersey. The parents and two eldest daughters could read and write. The household included John T. Dalrymple, 54, born July 1845, a locomotive engineer; his wife of 30 years, Lucinda, 51, b. July 1848, who had had seven children, four of whom were living; their four children, Emeline E., 26, b. July 1873; Laura G., 20, b. May 1880, a dry goods saleslady; and twins, b. November 1892, John T. and Charles, 7.[7]
