August 21, 1893 - Lewis William Dalton, son of George F. Dalton, died of Diptheria at Wm. Dalton's home at noon at 1:15. Age 6 years, 3 months and 11 days. He was William Dalton's little pet. Lived with him. Miss L. Atkinson, St. Catharines Hospital nurse, attended him and Mrs. A. Collins. The nurse Miss L. Atkinson took the diptheria from Lewis and went back to the Hospital and had it hard but got better. Lewis was buried on the south side of Jennie at half past 6 same evening. 4 days sick. Minister - Rev. George Bull. Undertaker - M. Morse. Wm. Dalton paid all expenses of funeral.[2]
