Kay was born to Ward and Helen Dalton and raised in Dimondale, MI, the eldest of 3 daughters. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 9, 2015.
She retired from the State Capitol Building in Lansing.
Devotion to family, including her husband of over 37 years as well as her children, grandchildren and their families was her top priority. They are truly her legacy. She was somewhat feisty and spirited, but always a lady. Kay was a wonderful women who was meticulous in her appearance and took great pride in her home and family. She also cared deeply for many others. She was passionate about her lawn and yard and spent countless hours tending to them. She was always coming up with new ideas to further her landscape vision. Kay will be remembered for her deep love, playfulness, generosity and her overall joy and happiness.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harry, as well as a sister, Cheryl Dalton.
Kay is survived by sister Joanne Hummel, children Thomas W. “Tom” Brown (fiancée Debbie Murphy), Kandy (John) Molesphini, grandchildren Kailey Jo Brown, Jacob Ward Brown, John “Anthony” Molesphini and Alyssa Kaye Molesphini. She is also survived by her significant other, Charles Krauss, two stepchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service was held at St. Matthew Church, Holt, MI. on Wednesday, January 14.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Heartland Hospice.
