Henry Dalton makes his first appearance in the 1819 Pittsylvania, Va personal property records.
Assuming Henry did not just arrive to the area in 1819 and instead was born and raised in Pittsylvania by a father, this means he turned 21 in 1819. As a result he was most likely born in 1798 (vs 1803 Census). Thomas and Winston are the only Daltons listed with sons over 16 from 1814 to 1820
(One Thomas Dalton married Elizabeth Patterson in 1788; another Thomas Dalton married in 1823; (possibly Agness is an alternate name or sibling; : Elizabeth Patteson (Patterson) (1772–1861) m 1788 Thomas Dalton
(presumed Son of David Dalton Jr and Judith (Pickeral).
Daltons in this time period only listed white males over 16 and horses- no slaves or other property; A tax is paid on every white male over 16 years of age
White Males are not individually listed with their name until they are 21
Prior to age 21, they are listed under their father’s name in a total number of white males over 16. (For example say Lewis Dalton had sons who are 17 and 19. Lewis Dalton will show 3 males over 16, himself and his two sons over 16. In the case of not having a father they would be listed under their mother’s name. If a Lewis Dalton had no sons, he would just show a 1)

I have merged Dalton-344 with Dalton-1704. the new Dalton-344 appears to match Dalton-8059that has limited info. Wife's name is the same and the profile indicates they are the parents of Samuel Dalton. this info matches for what I have for Samuels' parents. i'm new at this, am i good to go?
This profile appears to be the same Henry Dalton-1704 as H Dalton-8059. As I have had issues with this before, would someone w/ more experience please look. Thanks Kevin
Regards, Sandy
