DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:

Daniel-5176 and Daniel-429 appear to represent the same person because: Both represent the spouse of Elizabeth Woodson, who also is duplicated and in process of merging.

There is no proof for much of the information in the biography of this James or his father. Some of it is just speculation that has been compiled from different sources. It would be best to edit the biography to include only what can be proved in primary records about this James. No one, to my knowledge, can actually prove descent from Roger Daniell. Payne Daniel has retired from genealogical research and his site no longer exists. The data on Payne's site for Roger Daniell did not contain any primary record evidence that proved living descendants of Roger Daniell.

From this James Daniel-429 back as far as this line is presented, it appears that two or three completely unrelated lines are mixed together (Warwick, York and Middlesex Daniel lines). Y DNA evidence shows that folks who claim descent from Roger Daniell and the York Daniels are unrelated to each other and also unrelated to the Middlesex Daniels. To make this even more untenable, no one has been able to prove descent from either Roger Daniell (Warwick County) or the York Daniels in primary records. It is not certain that either line actually generated male Daniel descendants that are living today to prove the Y DNA of these lines.

The line of the Middlesex Daniels has been proved using both primary records and Y DNA testing.

Hi there

There were 3 James Daniel's born around the same time period in the Southern Colonies. One is of no concern as he married a Sarah, Two are to us. James that married Elizabeth Woodson on this line and his ancestors are correct and James Daniel that married Jane "Jenny" Hicks. The one that married Jenny Hicks was born November 5, 1709 not November 5, 1707 and married Jenny Hicks November 11, 1725
