Biography

Mary 'Marion' Darley was born 25 May 1797 in Colleton County, South Carolina, the daughter of Thomas Darley and Sarah Snelling[1].

She married Burrell Rogers Calhoun. In 1850 they lived in Montgomery County with their children Samuel, James J., Mary Ann, Christiana, and Hannah E.[2] In 1860 she lived in Montgomery County, Georgia with her husband, daughter Hannah and grandchildren Miles and Mary[3]. 1870 finds them still in Montgomery County, with daughter Hannah and her children Willis, Polly, Elizabeth, and Christianna[4].

She died 1 June 1897 in Kibbee, Montgomery County, and was buried in a family plot with her husband in Burrel R. Calhoun Cemetery, Montgomery County, Georgia[1].
