Biography

Daniel was a Blacksmith.

Daniel was born 28 April 1682 in Mendon, Massachusetts. He was the son of Dennis Darling and Hannah Francis.[1]

Sometime before 1706, Daniel married Lydia. [Note: some researchers list her, without sources, as Lydia Cook, daughter of Samuel Cook and Lydia White, however probate and deed records show that their daughter did not marry]. Daniel and Lydia had eight known children:

  3. Lydia b 1711 m1. Boyce and perhaps m2. Newell A. Thomas
  4. Samuel b 1714 m Sarah Benson
  5. Susannah b 1717 m1 David Thompson
  6. Keziah b 1719 m. John Hunt
  7. Peter b 1722 m Sarah Thompson (no children)
  8. William b 1730/1 m Rachel White

Daniel died 26 February 1745/6 in Mendon. His will written 15 Jan 1745/6 mentions wife Lydia, sons Daniel, Samuel, Peter, William and daughters Abigail Thayer, Lydia Boyce, Susannah Thompson, and Keziah Hunt. Daniel is buried Old Cemetery, Millville, Massachusetts.[2]

Darling-635 and Darling-67 appear to represent the same person because: Same person, daughter Abigail married John Thayer (specified in bio, confirmed in will).

I've added additional sources. Also if you look at the William Darling profile I've added a birth record as well. I hope you'll consider approving the merge. Thanks. (I just adopted the other Daniel profile for the purposes of merging. I just ignore the ancestry.com sources. I agree, many of then are not reliable).

Darling-829 and Darling-635 are not ready to be merged because: Much of the Darling 635 data seems to be from Ancestry which I have serious doubts about the sources and correctness of the data. Since I am over 90 and no longer doing much active research I really do not care but I do think your import of data based only on Ancestry data should be very carefully checked .FGL
Darling-829 and Darling-635 appear to represent the same person because: Date variation is probably due to Calendar. William was a son of Daniel and Lydia.

Darling-829 and Darling-635 are not ready to be merged because: Daniel Darling was not the father of a Ruth Darling born I 1695. See the published book referenced in my profile on Denis. Ruth was the daughter of John Darling and Elizabeth. References to something from the internet are NOT valid genealogical references but should be checked with real sources. I am saddened by all the stuff downloaded without proof for WikiTree. FGL
