Helen Ruth5 Adkins (Lillie Mae4 Taylor, Charles Christopher Columbus3, Spenser Green2, John1) was born 09 Jul 1925 in Dresden, Weakley Co, TN17,18, and died 16 Mar 2006 in East Lansing, Ingham Co, MI19. She married Fred Leon Darnell 05 Nov 1941 in New Madrid Co, MO, son of James Darnell and Annie Vinson. He was born 04 May 1917 in Dresden, Weakley Co, TN20, and died 27 Mar 2002 in Lansing, Ingham Co, Mi

Born May 4, 1917 in Dresden, TN, died Mar 27, 2002 at the age of 84,. Mr Darnell owned and operated Leon's New and Used Furniture for many years in Lansing,MI and retired from Estes Furniture after 15 years of service. He was a member of the South Baptist Church in Lansing.
Mr. Darnell was proceeded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Surviving are Helen, his wife of 60 years, 2 daughters Judith (Douglas) Bradman of Lansing, and Linda K. (Clay) Thompson of Navarre, FL, 7 grandchildren, Kristian Bradman, Kameron (Lisa) Bradman, Shawn (Anne) Cooper, Brandon (Anna) Cooper, Yvette (Phillip) Barton, and Joshua and Matthew Thompson, 6 great grandchildren Allison, MacKenzie and Taylor Bradman, Shelby and Brent Cooper and Cooper Barton and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Mar 30 at 10am at the Gorsline-Runciman Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave, Lansing, with Pastor David D. Brooks, Associate Pastor at South Baptist officiating.
Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing. The family will recieve friends at the Chapel on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Those desiring to make contributions to the American Diabetes Assoc, Wege Center, Grand Rapids, Mi in memory of Mr. Darnell.
