Biography

Amanda was born in Putnam County, West Virginia, USA on abt 1863 to Manly George W Darr and Martha Ellen McNealy. Amanda Elizabeth died 01/13/1935 at age 74 in Minden Coal Camp^[1] Fayettville, Fayette, WVA. She was living with her son Ray at the time.

Amanda E Darr married Benjamin Franklin Gilbert^[2] (3 Feb 1856 Roane Co. W. Va.- 12 Nov 1968 in Fayette, West Virginia), his parents John Gilbert (1816-1887) and Sarah A Cook (Born in Meadow Bluff, Greenbrier, West Virginia in 1832 -1888). ^[3]

Benjamin's father is probably John Gilbert (1816-1887) Born in Patrick Co., Virginia (28 Feb 1816- 24 February 1887 in Rich Valley, Smyth, Virginia) to William Preston Gilbert and Sarah Madison Pendleton. John Gilbert married Jane Fulcher (1823-1889) and married Sarah Elizabeth Cook (1833 - 1920).
