Biography

Robert was born in 1882. He is the son of Robert Daughtry and Lucinda Ward. In 1900, the family was living in Echo, Dale, Alabama.[1]

R. E. Daughtry and Mazelle (aka Mozelle) Clemmons married on 30 Jul 1906 in Coosa County, Alabama.[2]

In 1918, Robert registered with the WWI draft. He was a Division Manager for the Free Sewing Machine Company. He listed his wife, Mrs Mozelle Frances Daughtry, as his nearest relative. His physical description was noted as white, short and stout, with grey eyes and black hair.[3]

In 1920, the couple and their son, Edwin, were living in the household of Robert's widowed mother, Lucy, in Hartford, Geneva, Alabama.[4]

Robert passed away on 2 Sep 1932 in Cordele, Crisp, Georgia. His parents were named on his death certificate. His occupation was listed as traveling salesman. Robert was married at the time of death but his wife's name was not mentioned. His brother, John B Daughtry, was the informant.[5] Burial was in the Hartford City Cemetery, Hartford, Geneva County, Alabama. His memorial is attached to a spouse named Frances Mozelle Daughtry.[6]
