Le 13 avril 1700, Marguerite David naît et est baptisée le même jour à Château-Richer, Nouvelle-France.[1]

Mariage:
Lle 7 février 1719, Marguerite David et François Cloutier signent un contrat de mariage par devant Jacques Barbel, seigneur d'Argentenay.

Le 13 février 1719, à Château-Richer, Nouvelle-France, Marguerite David âgée de 18 ans épouse François Cloutier âgé de 32 ans, fils de Charles (Cloustier) Cloutier (1662-1729) et d'Anne (Tibault) Thibault (1665-1749)).

Historically, women did not take their husband's name at marriage in Nouvelle-France, and do not now in modern Québec....

This was only the case for a period of time from 1866 (the "Code Napoléon") until 1981, when the "Code civil du Québec" was amended to again make the birth (maiden) name for women the only legal name.

If married between 1866 and 1981, the husband's name should be shown only in the "Other last name(s)" .
