Uncertain whether middle name is actually Basil, as no tree listing it has documented it, but it's plausible given names of Delashmutt ancestors.
William was born on 29 March 1844[1] In 1850 he was living in Buckeystown, Maryland with his parents and siblings[2], and in 1860 the family was living in Frederick District.[3]
In 1870 William was living in the home of his mother Elizabeth Davis and grandmother Sarah Delashmutt in Frederick District 2.[4]
William married Valentine/Valietta Frances Staley on 12 March 1872.[5] In 1880 the couple and their children were living in Frederick City with William's mother.[6]
On the 1900 census William, Frances, and their sons were living at 56 E. 4th Street in Frederick City; their daughters and sons-in-law lived on the same street.[7]
William died on 20 March 1910 in Frederick; he was working at the firehouse and was killed when the fire engine fell over on him.[8]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
