I was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming. My family moved to Las Cruces, NM when I was 4 and then to El Paso, Tx shortly thereafter where I grew up in Northeast El Paso. I attended Highland Presbyterian kindergarten (Diana St), then the Hondo Cottages of EPISD from grades 1 - 3, then Stanton Stallions Elementary School from grades 4 - 7, then Irvin High School from grades 8 - 12. I then went to UTEP and EPCC eventually falling 2 semesters of Organic Chemistry short of a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. I worked in high school at the A & W on Dyer, for RE McKee Construction on graduation for 1 summer, then 2 years for Circle K convenience stores, then 1 year at Audio Consultants, then 4 years at Lone Star Company (liquor distribution), then 8 years at the El Paso Zoological Park (some of them as herpetologist), and then 26 plus years for the USPS. I ran in track in elementary and high school and continued to run for fun until about the age of 50. I was the past president of the Half Fast Track Club, ran 4 marathons, and many other races. I maintained an exotic reptile collection for most of my life to include a vast number of species, especially lizards, and wrote the care sheet for the Crocodile Monitor on ReptileChannel.com. I kept various breeds of dogs throughout most of my adult life, especially APBT's, and was the president of the Southwest APBT Show and Breeders Association, associated with the ADBA, for many years. I worked on and rode a large number of motorcycles in my younger days, including a 1947 Indian Chief. I now drive an '06 Pontiac GTO. I studied a number of martial arts including Siu Lum Hak Fu Mun (Shaolin Black Tiger Gate), Lameco Escrima, Lucay Lucay JKD/Kali, Bahala Na, and Augustine Fong's Wing Chun. I spend a lot of time gardening as well. I married my wife, Margarita Vega, in 1974 and son, Jeremiah Jr., was born in 1982.

Irene (WikiTree Mentor)
I'm Eowyn, a WikiTree Mentor and Team Member. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person. The farther back in your tree, the more likely you will find duplicate profiles to link into, so it's a good idea to do a search before you create a new profile. Try to add an estimated date and place of birth, at the very least, a country, for each person. This helps in searches. Last but not least, try to source each profile as you go.
We also have a naming standard here.
Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.
Do you have any questions I can help with?
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.
Everything on WikiTree is a collaborative work in progress so dont forget to read and sign our Honor Code. This is what keeps WikiTree a friendly and helpful community. We have many friendly members, feel free to ask if you have any questions.
Welcome to WikiTree. We're glad you found us. If you have questions while getting started, someone may be able to point you in the right direction in our G2G forum or you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created. If you would like to contribute your family's tree and you agree with our Honor Code, volunteer here on your profile and we would be glad to add you to our WikiTree community.
