Patt Bogan owed me. I also give and bequeath to my loving son Thomas Davis a negro woman named Het and also a mare and colt which is called his and also a cow and heffer which I bought of Joseph White and also one rifle gun which is called his. I also give and bequeath to my loving daughter Sarah Benton five pounds to be raised out of my estate. I also give and bequeath to my loving daughter Mary Baker five pounds to be raised out of my estate. I also give and bequeath to my loving daughter Dicy Brazzill five pounds to be raised out of my estate. I also give and bequeath the Plantation whereon I now live to my loving son John Davis and also a cow and calf and feather bed and furniture and a rifle gun and also the first child the negro woman has named Het that I give to my son, Thomas. I also give and bequeath to my loving son Isham a negro boy named Jack and also a cow and calf my proper mark and also one sorrel horse with a blasé face. I also give and bequeath to my loving son John Davis one mare and saddle the mare called Eagle mare. I also give and bequeath to my loving son Lewis Davis two hundred acres of land lying on Little Brown Creek which I bought of Roland Williams and also one negro woman named Mary Ann after my wife's death and also a cow and yearling and also one bay mare. I also give and bequeath to my loving daughter Elizabeth Davis thirty pounds to be raised from my estate and one cow and calf my proper mark and a feather bed and furniture and suite of cloths. I also give and bequeath to my loving wife Mary Davis all the rest of my movable estate and after her death to be equally divided among my youngest children Lewis, John and Elizabeth and I also make and ordain Joseph White to be my whole and sole Executor." Deed Book H, p. 3. THIS INDENTURE this 17th day of Febry. in the year of our Lord 1785 Between. Roland Williams of the County of Anson and State of No. Carolina of the one. part and Christopher Davis of the same State Witnesseth that for and in. consideration of the sum of sixty pounds specie money to the sd Roland. Williams in hand paid by the sd Christopher Davis at & before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt and payment whereof is hereby. acknowledged hath granted bargained & sold alliened enfeoffed conveyed &. confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell allien enfeoffe convey & confirm unto the said Christopher Davis his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in for & manner as followeth lying on both sides of Williams Creek Beginning at a spanish oak and runs So. 70 E. 140 poles to a stake then So 70 E 110 poles across said creek to a stake then No. 20 Wt. 140 poles down said creek to a pine then No 70 E 110 poles across said creek to the first station containing 200 acres be the same more or less with the appurtenances situate lying and being as aforesaid with their and every of their rites members & appurtenances & the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders of all and singular the lands & tennements & hereditaments and premises hereby granted or intend to be granted & of every part & parcel thereof & all rents issues services & profits to them or any part or parcel of them incident belonging or appurtaining to them and also all and every of them Estate rite title claim interest and demand whatsoever of him the sd Christer. STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA NO. 453. To All To Whom these presents shall come greeting.
Knowing ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Christopher Davis have given and granted & by these presents do give and grant unto the said Christopher Davis a tract of land Containing One hundred acres lying and being in our County of Anson on Both sides of Lanes Creek Begining at a white oak in John Curlees line and runing South thirty Degrees West Seventeen chains & fifty links to a red oak then South forty seven Degrees East Eight Chains to William Morris corner red oak on the Bank of said creek thence with said Morris line South forty seven Degrees East thirty two chains and fifty links to a stake in said line thence North thirteen Degrees East fifty chains to a stake in John Curtus line thence with sd. John Curtus line South seventy one Degrees west crossing said creek to the Begining.
At Fayette the 24th. day of October in the 7th year of our Independence 1783.
