Grace Davis was born on the 19th February 1880[1][2][3] and was supposedly the daughter of Richard Nash Davis[4]. However it was more likely she was born illegitimately as she is raised by her grandparents, her grandfather being Richard Davis.
In 1881 Grace was living in Purleigh, Essex with her grandparents.[5]
In 1891 Grace was 11 years old and living in Purleigh with her grandparents.[6]
On the 5th March 1911 Grace married Herbert Henry Hayter at St. Paul Greenwich, London, England. Herbert Henry Hayter, 30, bachelor, Seaman of (H.M.S. At Sea crossed out) 2 Ashburnham? Grove, son of David Walter Hayter (deceased, Farmer) and Grace Davis, 31, spinster, of 2 Ashburnham? Grove, daughter of Richard Nash Davis (Engineer). Witnessed by John Sidney Hayter & Clara Ruth Nash[4]
In 1939, widowed Grace was living at 54 Brooksbank Avenue , Redcar, Yorkshire (North Riding), England.[1]
Grace died in 1941 in Cleveland, England[7]
Grace’s mother Jane Davis likely married Richard Nash in 1883 and Grace did not live with them which suggests that Richard is not her father.
