MYRTLE E. HAMMITT SOLLO

Myrtle Elizabeth Hammitt Sollo, age 94, passed away December 5, 2003, Colorado Springs, CO. She was born December 3, 1909, in White Rock, CO, to Winthrop S. and Ida V. (Prescott) Davis. She lived in the Colorado Springs area for most of her life. She married Dee Hammitt on January 31, 1926, and later married Harry A. Sollo on December 3, 1951. She served as president of Sollo's Inc. (bicycle shop and store) where she worked at the family business for 30 years. She is survived by one daughter, M. Maxine Haggard, Colorado Springs; one son, Gerald Dee Hammitt, Cape Fair, MO; nine grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James S. Hammitt; both husbands; four sisters; and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak Avenue, Suite 600, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2003, Swan-Law Cascade Chapel with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitations will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2003, Swan-Law Funeral Directors.
