Peter and Emily settled in Oak Level, Henry County, Virginia, north of Martinsville. He was a Merchant and Tobacconist. Together they had one child, John Peter Davis.[1]
He passed away in 9 Feb 1878 in Henry County, Virginia. FindAGrave.com states he was buried at Keen Cemetery, however is grave hasn't been found at that location. Possibly destroyed?[6]

Peter P Davis made the rank of Captain in the Confederate Virginia 24th Virginia Militia.[1][7]
