Note: Fought in the Battle of New Orleans with Gen. Jackson at the close of the War of 1812. ("Why Didn't I Ask?", by Jim T. Davis) Pvt. in Capt. John Walters' Company of Infantry, 4 Reg't Georgia Detached Militia.

In early 1820s the family migrated across northern Georgia and Alabama to Hardeman Co., Tenn., probably in 1822 or 1823. They remained there until late 1833, when they moved a short distance to northern Miss., where he died.
