Biography

Elizabeth was born July 26, 1794 in Fitzwilliam, Cheshire, New Hampshire, United States. She married first Aaron Davis of Bradford, Vermont, in Sept 1816. They had several children, all born in North Hero, Vermont. According to The Descendants of John Whitney, the Davis children were: ::Levi, born July 1, 1817

Nelson, born August 1818 and
Loren, born August 1820.

Betsey may or may not have married Joseph Hazen, whose first wife was still living, but they moved with her children to Quebec, where they had five more children:

Harris or George Harris, born about 1822
Harriet, born 1824
Harvey, born 1826
Daniel Peter, born 1828 and
Josephus Theophile, born 1830

According to The Hazen Family in America, Nelson Davis was taken by his mother to Canada, where he was known as Nelson Hazen. He died at Oconto, Wisconsin, in 1892.

Betsey passed away 1836 in Sainte-Marie-de-Monnoir, Rouville, Quebec, Canada.

Notes

The Davis children's LNABs should be changed from Hazen to Davis. The extra children currently connected to this profile need to be researched further and either confirmed or rejected as Elizabeth's children. There is no mention in either the Whitney or Hazen book of Henri Liboire, Joseph Loring, Elizabeth or Auriele Hazen.

Davis-30815 and Whitney-1495 are not ready to be merged because: Please look at these two profiles. Where does the name Davis fit in? A previous marriage? These do appear to be the same person, but the details are inconsistent.

Davis-30815 and Whitney-1495 appear to represent the same person because: Here is the source confirming Whitney as the correct LNAB and Davis as the name of her first husband: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=wu.89064445307&seq=272&q1=whitney

Please merge. Thanks!
