18 August 2001. Obituary, BARBOURVILLE - HUGH WEST DAVIS, 59, Flat Lick, former employee of Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn, Mich., and security guard, husband of Mildred Davis, died Thursday. Services 2 p.m. Sunday, Hampton Funeral Home. Visitation 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today.

Event: 23 August 2001. Obituary, HUGH WEST DAVIS, age 59, of Flat Lick, Ky. was born on April 18, 1942 in Knox County and passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2001 in the Pineville Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Hugh Carr Davis and the late Lorene (Smith) Davis. On March 14, 1962 he united in marriage with Mildred Smith and to this union one daughter was born. Mr. Davis was a member of the Friendship Holiness Church. He had been an employee of the Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn, Mich. and later in life worked as a security guard. Preceding him in death are his parents, Hugh and Lorene Davis and one brother, Gary Wayne Davis. Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Mildred Davis of Flat Lick, Ky.; his daughter, Jeanetta Sue Adams and husband Gary of Barbourville; three grandchildren; two sisters, Reba Faye Daniel of Warren, Mich. and Pamela Sue Cornett and husband Joe of Stockbridge, Mich.; four brothers, Raymond Dean Davis and wife Lorraine of Port Huron, Mich., Linville Bill Davis and wife Kathy of Glendale, Ariz., Charles Edward Davis and wife Sondra of Lake City, Tenn. and Danny lee Davis and wife Ida of Prescott Valley, Ariz. Funeral services for Mr. Hugh West Davis were conducted on Sunday, August 19, 2001 in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Rice and Rev. Dale Wyatt officiating. Burial was in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
