Martha Jane Davis was one of twelve children born to William Davis and Armanella Moore Davis.
The other children were: Mary Elvira, Margaret Levinia, William Thomas, James Edward, Elizabeth Ann, George Washington, Armanella Louiza, Therese Jane, David Josiaha, Hannah Permela and John Davis.

Mrs. Martha Jane SANDLIN died in this place on Thursday last, July 13, 1893, after a long and painful illness. Mrs. SANDLIN was born in North Carolina, but came to this county when a child with her parents and has resided here all her life. Marrying when quite young, she became the mother of 7 children all of whom are living except one. She was buried Friday at T.C. Baptist church, by the side of her husband who crossed over the dark river 6 years ago.
