Irene was born in 1858, the daughter of James Dudley and Elizabeth (Congdon) Davis, in Washington County, Ohio, where she was most likely raised.
On June 14, 1878, Irene married Frank Scribner Mason, the son of John and Rosannah (Devol-Scribner) Mason, in Washington County. They initially settled in Washington County and then in around1886 they moved to Bellaire, Belmont County, Ohio.
Frank and Irene had the following children:
Mary Maud Mason (Long) - (1878- 1961)
Grosvnor Brook Mason - (1880-1952)
Otto Mason - (1882-1912)
Hal Franklin Mason - (1888-1977)
Frank lived until 1928 when he passed at 80 years of age. Irene lived on until 1934 when she was 76 years old. Their bodies are buried together in the Greenwood Cemetery in Pultney Township, Belmont County, Ohio.
