Martha Davis Reed, 95, of Brownsville died at 4:47 p.m. June 5, 2003, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Sweeden native was a homemaker and a member of Brownsville General Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Stanford Davis and Elzora Bell Harrison Davis and wife of the late James “Nat” Reed Sr. She was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Reed and Walter F. Reed. Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Patton Funeral Home in Brownsville with burial in Sweeden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Survivors include two daughters, Ann Nichter and husband, Carl, of Louisville and Maybell Crawford of Brownsville; two sons, Michael Reed of Brownsville and Jim Reed and wife, Delores, of Horse Cave; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
