Biography
Mary was born in December 1816 to Benjamin Franklin Davis and Martha Taylor in Oglethorpe, Georgia. She had seven brothers and sisters: Warren, Benjamin, Louisiana, Thomas, Robert, Martha and Laura.
In 1835, Mary married Willis Pursley. In 1840, the family was living in York, South Carolina. [1] By 1850, the family had moved to Georgia [2] and in 1860, they lived in Alabama. [3]
Mary lived in Alabama for the rest of her life. [4] She is buried at Wadley City Cemetery in Wadley, Alabama. [5]
