Biography

Almond Davis, son of Ezekiel Davis and Bethia Grandy, was born at Reading, Vermont on March 24, 1799. [1] [2] [3]

Almon was thrice married, first to Semira Pratt on March 18, 1823. [2] Semira was born at Reading on October 12, 1802 daughter of Luther Pratt and Susanna/Sukey Childs. [4] Semira died, aged 28, at Reading on February 15, 1831.[5]

He married second, Susan Pratt on February 18, 1832. [6] [2] She was the sister of his first wife, Semira, born at Reading on October 16, 1805, daughter of Luther and Susanna Pratt. [7]

His wife Susan died at Reading on April 4, 1845, aged 39. [8] After her death he married third Grace Stearns. [2] His wife Grace was born on October 4, 1806, daughter of Paul Stearns and his second wife Lucy Kneeland. [3] [9]

Almon died at Reading on September 30, 1855. [10] [2] He is buried with his wives and several children in the Amsden Cemetery, Reading, Windsor County, Vermont. His inscription reads: Almon Davis Died Sept. 30, 1855 AE 56 years [11]

His widow Grace died there on August 4, 1863, they had no children. [3] [9]
