Biography
Thibaut II, comte de Bar was the son of Henri II, comte de Bar, seigneur de Ligny, and Philippe de Dreux.[1] He took part in the war of his brother-in-law Guy de Dampierre against William of Holland and was prisoner in 1253.[1]
He married Jeanne de Flandre, eldest daughter of Guillaume II de Dampierre and Marguerite de Flandre, in March 1245. She died without issue.[1]
He married, secondly, Jeanne de Toucy, daughter of Jean I de Toucy and Emme de Laval, and had issue:
- Henri III, comte de Bar
- Jean , seigneur de Puisaye
- Charles, died young
- Thibaud, bishop of Liège
- Renaud, bishop of Metz
- Erard, lord of Pierrepont
- Pierre, lord of Pierrefort
- Philippe, first wife of Otto IV, palatine of Burgundy
- Alix, married Mathieu de Lorraine
- Marguerite
- Isabeau
- Marie, married Gobert V d'Aspremont[1]
He died after 1287.[1]
