Obituary

Mr. Ellison Wade DeLoach, 76, of Two Sisters Ferry Road near Varnville died Friday, January 30, 2009 at his residence after an extended illness.

Born October 14th, 1932 in Hampton County he was the son of the late Ellison Capers DeLoach and Lillie Stanley DeLoach McAlhaney. Mr. DeLoach served his country for 21½ years in the United States Air Force retiring as a Senior Master Sgt. After serving in the military Mr. DeLoach worked for 22 years in the Hampton Post Office as a Postal Clerk and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hampton.

Surviving besides his wife Irene C. DeLoach are: Two sons: David DeLoach and wife Elizabeth of Charleston, SC, Micheal DeLoach and wife Halli of Columbus, OH, two daughters: Lisa Dillard and husband Ted of Lyman, SC, Paula Breland and husband Harrison of Estill, SC, one sister: Eliza D. Padgett and husband John L. of Varnville, SC. There are 9 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday February 2nd, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hampton conducted by Father Carl Bauer and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home of Hampton. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery near Hampton with Military Honors.

A rosary service will be held at 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoon in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home located at 300 Mulberry St. West, Hampton, SC 29924 (803-943-3352) with the visitation immediately after from 5 until 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the following: St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 703 E. Fifth St., Hampton, SC 29924 or Palmetto Health Hospice, PO Box 1123, Bamberg, SC 29903, or Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 6404 Hopewell Rd., Hampton, SC 29924.^[2]
