Biography

Willempje Teunisz de Metselaer, daughter of Teunis de Metselaer and Egbertine Egbertse, was born in 1661 in Beverwyck, Nieuw Nederland (after 1664 known as Albany, New York).

The list of "Names of the Members of the Church of Jesus Christ at New Albany, at the End of the Year 1683, and Afterward" includes "Wilmje Teunisz, now Bratt." [1]

Willempje Teunisz de Metselaer [2] died, 1 October 1743 and was buried in the Church Yard Cemetery. 1743 10/1 Brat, Willempie [3] [4]

Marriage

Antonius Bradt wed Willempje Teunisz / Teunise de Metselaer (bapt. 1662 in Beverwyck, Nieuw Nederland) on, 9 December 1685, at the First Dutch Reformed Church, Albany, Albany, New York. Antonius and Willempje had at least the following children: 1685 Dec. 9. Antoni Brat, y.m., and Willemje Teunisz, y.d., both l. here. [5][6][7]

Is there any documentary evidence of her using the name De Metselaer?

The record of church members in 1683, the marriage record, and the record of the baptism of her son Antoni all give her last name as Teunisz. I think Teunisz should be her LNAB.
