Here is a biography of Amaury VI de Montfort that I wrote:

Amaury VI de Montfort. (1192–1241) was a prominent figure in the 13th century, known for his roles in the Albigensian Crusade and as a noble in both France and England. He was born into the influential House of Montfort, a family with significant holdings in France and ties to the English crown.

Early Life and Inheritance Amaury was the son of Simon de Montfort, 5th Earl of Leicester, and Alix de Montmorency. His father was a leader of the Albigensian Crusade, and upon his death, Amaury inherited his father's French properties, while his brother, Simon de Montfort, 6th Earl of Leicester, inherited the English title.

Military and Political Career Amaury's early years were marked by his participation in the Albigensian Crusade, where he fought under his father's command. He was knighted in 1213 and continued to fight until his father's death in 1218. Amaury then inherited the County of Toulouse and other titles and lands in Languedoc. However, in 1224, he ceded his titles and lands in Languedoc to King Louis VIII of France. In return, Montfort-l'Amaury was elevated to a county, and Amaury later became the Constable of France in 1230.

County of Leicester Amaury also held the title of Earl of Leicester, which he inherited from his father. However, due to the complexities of being a liegeman of the French king, he could not serve as a vassal of the King of England simultaneously. After negotiations, Amaury renounced his rights in England in 1239, allowing his brother Simon to be recognized as Earl of Leicester.

The Barons' Crusade In 1239, Amaury embarked on the Barons' Crusade with other notable nobles. During this crusade, he was captured in a battle at Gaza and taken prisoner to Egypt.

Death and Burial Amaury de Montfort passed away in late 1241 in Otranto, Kingdom of Sicily. His body was buried in St. Peter's Basilica, and his heart was interred at the Priory of Haute-Bruyère.

Legacy Amaury VI de Montfort's life was one of duty and service to his family and sovereigns. His loyalty and contributions during a tumultuous period of European history are noteworthy. His descendants continued to play significant roles in the politics and society of France and England.

FWIW, there may be a daughter Marguerite (died abt 1290), who married John Soissons (III), with five children, according to Wikipedia:

A birth year of abt 1184 puts his father at 14 years old and his mother at 8 years old when he was born.

The dates are guesses only. I've edited them to provide for the parents to be older. Thanks, Rod.
