Henry, son of Godfrey Dearborn, was born about 1633. He was christened on March 22, 1633 in Hannah Cum Hagnaby, Lincoln, England. [1]He came to this country with his father when six years old.

He was married "10 11 mo 1665" (10 January 1666) to Elizabeth Marrian,[2][3] born about 1644, died July 6, 1716, aged seventy-two years. She was a daughter of John Marrian, one of the first settlers of Hampton.

The record of Hampton states: "Henry Dearborn deceased January ye 18, 1724-5, aged 92 years." Henry Dearborn died 01 January 1724 in Hampton, Rockingham, New Hampshire.[10]

Research Notes

Explanation of month and year of birth and year of death:

Records indicate a death year of either 1724 or 1725. (Source #12 New Hampshire Deaths). We know he was alive in 1633 because he was christened March 22, 1633. (Source #2 England Births and Christenings).

Because he was 92 yrs at death and died on the 18th of January, he was probably born on or before January 18, 1633 and died in 1725 because if he was born on or before January 18, 1632 and died in 1724, almost a year would have passed before he was christened.

If he was born in 1634 that would have made him 91 in 1725. The record of Hampton states: "Henry Dearborn deceased January ye 18, 1724-5, aged 92 years." This conflicts with the Family Search record, BUT Its very possible when the Family Search record was created from the original there was a mistake in the transcription and the eight in eighteen was mistaken as the s in 1st, like here[14]

Also, the preview of this record should read 172 4/5 not 1724, (accuracy is so important) because people tend to look no further than what they see.

Deacon should be removed until records have been found. Because it's not my profile I will leave it to the PM's to decide. When I was researching there was a Deacon Henry but it wasn't this one.

sorry to be a pest, can you give me the source for the middle name? I see it is marked as certain. Just wondering, since middle names were so rare in those days. thanks
The portrait is of a Henry Dearborn born in 1751, not Henry b. 1633.
