Research suggests that this person may never have existed. See the text for details.

Emma de Bretagne included here as wife of Rognvald Brusesson and mother of his children, Tora Ragnvaldsdatter, Adelme d@Orcades (Orkney), Robert Brus, Philina Brus, and Hortolina Brus. However the sources for Rognvald suggest that he confined his activities to Orkney, Norway and Kiev. The sources (Ynglingasaga and Orkneyingasaga) that tell his story do not name a wife, and only one child, Eiliv who is not included here among the children of Emma. It is highly unlikely that Rognvald had any relationship with Emma. However one of her children, Amicia, has a father, Robert de Brus. As a temporary measure, in collaboration with the PM, Emma is being disconnected from Ragnvald and married to Amicia's father, Robert de Brus, taking her Bruce children with her. C 1 September 2018

Relationships between historical figures could have been simplified or even fabricated in the text to give the impression that succession remained within the same family….Precise chronology is also difficult to assess from the Sagas….The conclusion must be that the tight family network described in the Sagas is unlikely to be correct and that the relationships shown below should be treated with considerable caution. http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/NORWEGIAN%20NOBILITY.htm

Regarding the unmerged match with De-Brittany-30, who is currently attached as wife of Ranulf, according to Medieval Lands, the wife of Ranulf is unknown. We could either complete the merge and detach Ranulf or change De-Brittany-30 to 'unknown unknown'. As 'unknown unknown' with no sources isn't a particularly useful profile perhaps merging away De-Brittany-30 is the better option. Regards, Steve.

De Brittany-30 and Bretagne-39 appear to represent the same person because: same date of birth and date of death.

It appears from comments De Brittany-30 needs to be disconnected from her husband.

De Brittany-30 and Bretagne-39 are not ready to be merged because: Research needed

Emma of Brittany is given here as wife of Ragnvald Brusesson died about 1045. He appears to have confined his activities to Orkney, Norway and Kiev, making the marriage unlikely. Her daughter Amicia is given as daughter of a Robert de Brus. I'd like to detach Emma from Ragnvald and marry her to Robert, taking her Bruce children with her. Do you have a source for this relationship?

I did not reject the merge; I marked it as an unmerged match, since (to quote WikiTree instructions "the profiles appear to match, but you would like to complete the merge later because there is so much conflicting information to resolve."

Debretagne-11 and Bretagne-39 appear to represent the same person because: A rather small difference in their age should not be a reason to reject the merge. If somebody is not happy with this, then just wait until things are sorted out.

Debretagne-11 and Bretagne-39 are not ready to be merged because: Not enough info on Debretagne-11; conflicting birth dates.

Jacques, Not sure who she is, but Conan and Ermengarde didn't have a daughter named Emma. For this reason, I am removing them as parents. unfortunately, that leaves her an orphan. Hope you can find where she fits.
