Hannah, born about 1790 in the United States,[1] was the daughter of Long Point, Upper Canada settlers Lucas and Lucretia Dedrick. She married John Backhouse, a major of the Norfolk militia, in 1814.[2] In 1815, she received a grant of 200 acres near her father's home in Walsingham.[3]
