Henry Dedrick was born in 1802 to Frederich Diedrich and Tamson Torrence,[1] in an unincporated area of Washington County, New York, which would soon become the town of Putnam.[2][3][4]
He married Minerva Belden in 1823,[3], and they had several children together:[5][6][7]

The death record of Henry's sister Nancy shows the parents names. They were the progenitors of all of the Dedricks in Putnam, and probably of all of the Beldens, as well, for there were at least three intermarriages between children of Frederick and Tamson and children of Phinehas Belden and Polly Tucker of Benson, Vermont.
