DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

I approved the merge on my end, but I think the owner of Dees-37 has to approve it as well, I guess?

The two profiles look pretty close by have slightly different birth and death dates. For what it's worth, the birth and death dates on Dees-150 are backed up by a gravemarker listed on Find-a-Grave. Unless there is compelling documentation to support the dates on Dees-37, I would suggest keeping the Dees-150 dates.

Dees-150 and Dees-37 appear to represent the same person because: Dates and locations are about the same. Married to the same person. Linked to the same 1880 Census
