Biography

Adam was born in 1775. He passed away in 1849. [1]

Research note

This profile has been merged with one that began as an erroneous child of Conrad Deffenbaugh. Conrad did not have a son Adam. An Ancestry search provided an alternative--that Adam was the son of a George Deffenbaugh. The most likely candidate for the father was Johann George Dieffenbach (note that Johann is often used as an honorific name and he would have been called George), who already had a son Adam with a similar birth date. Thus, I proposed a merge which I completed 18 December 2021. - Kelts-7 18:00, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Adam by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Adam:

Deffenbaugh-41 and Dieffenbach-92 appear to represent the same person because: Please see the explanation in the research note at Deffenbaugh-41; note that birth dates are quite similar and there are many spellings for the name Deffenbaugh in the relevant time period
