Biography

1882 Magdelina Anna "Lena" Dehlinger was born about 26 Jan 1882 in Portage County, Wisconsin, USA.[1]

1931 Magdelina "Lena" Simonis died in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, USA on 5 May 1931 and was buried at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Rosholt, Portage County, Wisconsin, USA.[1]

OBITUARY[1]

Mrs. Nick Simonis of Rosholt died at 8 o'clock this morning at the state tuberculosis sanitarium near Milwaukee of tuberculosis of the throat and lungs. Mrs. Simonis had been ailing for nearly three years when her condition became more serious, she was taken to the sanitarium, where she was confined to bed. Her condition became critical 10 days ago and Mr. Simonis was called. She improved, however, and Mrs. Simonis had just returned home this morning when he received a message of her death.
Mrs. Simonis whose maiden name was Magdalena Dehlinger, was born in the town of Sharon on January 6, 1861, and lived there with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Nick Dehlinger until her marriage. She was married to Mr. Simonis at St. Martin's church in the town of Sharon on May 6, 1903, and they took up their residence in the village of Rosholt where Mr. Simonis has been engaged for several years in the plumbing and farm implement business.
Mrs. Simonis was a promoter of the League of the Sacred Heart at St. Adalbert's church for more than 15 years.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Jerome Simonis of Rosholt and Anselm Simonis at the family home and three daughters, Mrs. Otis Atwater of Sturgis, Mich., and Loretta and Lorraine Simonis at the family home. She also leaves one grandchild, Donald Atwater and six brothers, Alex Dehlinger of Beloit, Carl, Henry, and August Dehlinger of Wausau, Albert Dehlinger of Tomahawk and Jacob Dehlinger, Center street, this city.
The body was brought by hearse from the sanitarium to the Prais funeral home today and will be removed to the Simonis home at Rosholt tomorrow.
