Biography

Sarah's mother was Lovina Dellinger. Sarah was born prior to Lovina's marriage. Sarah's father is unknown.

Sarah was enumerated in her mother's and stepfather's 1850 census household as "Sarah Wiseman" [sic] age 20.[1]

Spouse: Lawson Alexander Franklin
Sarah married about 1853 at about age 21 to Lawson A. Franklin (estimated by the circa 1854 birth year of their first-known child). Watauga County marriage records are not extant until 1873 because of a courthouse fire.

Lawson and Sarah Franklin were enumerated in the 1860 Watauga County, North Carolina, census.[2]
