Obituary

Bienville parish friends of George W. Howell(sic) will regret to learn that he passed away yesterday morning at a hotel in Chestnut after several months of failing health. He had arisen early that morning and walked about the place but told his landlady that he did not care for any breakfast.

He went back to his room and no one saw him until they found him dead. He had not arisen for dinner nor had a sound been heard from the room and when called for dinner, he did not answer. Thinking he was probably out of the room, the landlady opened the door and found him dead.

Mr. Hallond (sic) was well known in Arcadia and Bienville parish, having resided for several years at Lucky. He is survived by seven children, four daughters and three sons, viz: Mrs. Georgia Woods, Mrs. Eva Collinsworth, Mrs. Nonie Loe, Lucile Holland and Messrs. Dallas E. Holland, Leo Holland and Boyd Holland.

Interment will be made Friday at Oak Grove cemetery, two miles south of Arcadia.[3]
