I would like to add some of my ancestors . I am looking for as many of my ancestors as I can the dempseys came from Sligo Ireland . in 1749 during potato famine. their names would have been odempsey. they dropped the o when they landed in Canada at peir 21 in Halifax nova scotia.my great great great great grandfather s name was john Dempsey. and as u go down til u reach my great grandfather they were all john dempseys. exceot my grandfather who was carl ernest Dempsey.my grandmothers surname at birth was brophy.also from Ireland.
