Biography

  • Ancestor of noted actor Ted Danson (III)[1] through daughter Mary Noyes Denison Smith.

John Denison was born in 1701 at Stonington, Connecticut. He was the second child of Mercy Hedge and Edward Denison.

He married 4 times, all at Stonington:

  1. in 1720, Ann Denison; one child named Ann, born & died in infancy, 1821. Ann died soon thereafter, drowned in a well.
  2. About 1724 Mary Noyes; they had 10 children, only five of whom lived to adulthood
  3. 7 Jul 1743 Rebekah Noyes; they had 6 children, only 3 of whom lived to adulthood
  4. 3 Mar 1762 Sarah Chesebrough; no children

John died 28 Nov 1777 (aged 75-76) in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut, USA.

He is buried in Denison Burying Ground, Mystic, New London County, Connecticut, USA [2]
