Mrs. White was a lifelong resident of Mount Olive, Mississippi, where she and her husband, Clyde Franklin White, reared four children, John Edward White (Debbie), Ronald Marshall White (Pama), Jennifer White Collins (Gary), and Michael Franklin White. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Johnnie Kaye Maness, Connie Proctor, John David White, Tim Olson, Debi Collins, Jenny Meadows, Sherry Olson, Jeffrey Scott Collins and Memory Paige White and "One heart felt son Daniel Dennis".

She was born to Henry and Melvina Creel Dennis on June 18, 1934, and was one of fourteen children. She was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters and two grandchildren, Morgan White and Jessie Lee White.

Survivors include three brothers, Otha Dennis, Clark Dennis and Henry Dennis, Jr.

Mrs. White worked for many years as a seamstress before retiring to take care of her family and to enjoy time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and hosted many, many meals for family, friends and folks in her neighborhood. Her love for God was evident in her service to her children, church and community. The best days for her were spent simply enjoying working in her flowers and garden while singing praises to our Lord. Her Bible and hymn book were never far from her side.

Mrs. White doesn’t leave behind great wealth as the world might see it but she leaves something for more valuable behind for her children and the people who loved her. She leaves the love of God with them. She leaves the knowledge that even though things will go wrong and life will be hard at times, God will always keep His promises.

Her strength and legacy can be found in Isaiah 40:28-31: “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Mrs. White was a daughter, wife, mother, and friend. She will be missed each day.[1]

Research Notes

Analysis of birth dates for Clark, Helen, and Otha Lee Dennis. Bishop-4082 02:22, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
The birth date (Clark Dennis, Dennis-2190 born 27 Nov 1933) should not be within eight months of a sibling's birth date (Helen Mae Dennis White, Dennis-2199 born 18 Jun 1934) unless they are twins born within a day of each other.
1940 census has Clark Dennis, age 8 (about 1932) and his sister Helen age 4 (about 1936). There is one sibling in between, Otho Lee age 6 (about 1934).
Headstone birth date for Clark Dennis is Nov 27, 1933. Public records support this date.
Headstone birth date for Helen is Jun 18, 1934.
Public records birth date for Otha Lee Dennis is Jan 16, 1936.

Questions:

Did the 1940 census have Helen and Otha Lee's reversed?
Was Clark born in 1932 and not 1933?
