Biography

Chandler Denny was born in 1837 in Ellisburg, Jefferson, New York, the son of John Deney and Luzetta McNitt.^[1]

In 1850, Chandler Denny lived in Dundee, Kane, Illinois, with his parents John and Lucetta Denny and two siblings. John was a farmer ^[2]

Inv 1855, John Denny, a sailor, and his family, including Chandler, were living in Ellisburg, New York^[3]

Chandler and Lydia were married by at least 1860. Based on US Census and other records, they had at least the following children

• Frances A. Denny, b. ca. 1861
• Lucy Denny, b. 20 Oct 1871 Morristown, Rice, Minnesota^[4]; d. 3 Aug 1881 Morristown^[5]
• Jesse J. Chandler, b. 2 Jan 1885 Morristown^[6]

During the United States Civil War, Chandler served with Company I, 3rd Wisconsin Cav.^[1]

In 1865, Chandler Denny lived in Morristown with his wife Lydia J. Denny.and daughter Francis A Denny.^[7]

In 1870, "Chanla Deney," a house carpenter, and his wife Lydia and daughter Frances A., lived in Morristown.^[8]

In 1880, Chandler Denny and his wife Lucy lived in Morristown, Rice, Minnesota, with their daughter Lucy. Chandler was a carpenter.^[9]

Chandler Denny died on 9 March 1900 and is buried at the Riverside Cemetery, Morristown, Rice County, Minnesota.^[1]
